- June 29 - America Sings (closed 1988) opens in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park, in time for Independence Day.
- July 8 - A cast member is killed inside America Sings after 9 days when she is crushed between a revolving wall and a stationary platform. The ride is refitted to avoid a repeat accident.
