- January 24 - Mickey's Toontown, a new themed land geared towards smaller children, opens at Disneyland.
- October 4 - Mission to Mars (opened 1975) closes at the Magic Kingdom. It would be replaced by ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter in 1995.
- December 1 - Magic Journeys (opened 1987) closes for it's second time at Disneyland Park.
