- February 20 - The Walt Disney Story featuring Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln closes. Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years would open in its place a few months later.
- May 5 - The Happiest Homecoming on Earth celebration begins:
- June 30th - Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway Closed.
- Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams (closed 2008) makes its first run.
- July 17th - Disneyland Park celebrates it's 50th anniversary.
- July 29 - Two cars on California Screamin' collide, leaving 25 guests with minor injuries.
- September 12 - 'Hong Kong Disneyland Resort opens, along with its first and, as of 2010, only park, Hong Kong Disneyland.
