January 1 - Disney Parks begins the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day volunteer program.
January 4 - Honey, I Shrunk the Audience (opened 1998) closes at Disneyland Park in preparation of the return of Captain EO.
February 23 - Captain EO (opened 1986, closed 1997) reopens in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park.
