Alberta Falls is a Disney Parks character central to the backstory of the Jungle Cruise.
History[]
Background[]
Origins[]
Alberta Falls is a mixed-race English-Indian was born into the wealthy Falls family in the year 1911. Her father Albert Falls, Jr. was an English historian while her mother Sneh Falls was an Indian painter. She was taken across the world with her parents until 1919 when she was sent to stay with her colonist grandfather Dr. Albert Falls in the wilds of Adventureland, a mystical realm combining jungles across the globe where Alberta fell in love with the jungle and stayed ever since.
Alberta was raised by her explorer grandparents, and the skippers who worked for their international colonial business, the Jungle Navigation Company. Alberta was taught how to sail tramp-steamers, and was taken on many adventures in her youth. On an adventure to New Zealand, she took in a pet kakapo bird which she named, "Kamaka".
Jungle Cruise[]
In 1928, Dr. Albert Falls mysteriously disappeared. After this, Alberta inherited the Jungle Navigation Company which faced economic issues due to the Great Depression. For increased revenue, on the October 1 of 1931 Alberta started the company's, "Jungle Cruise" tourism services. The Jungle Cruise is a business which became infamously incompetent, dangerous and negligent but which earned Alberta profit and recognition, being named businesswoman of the year by the Adventureland Chamber of Commerce in 1937.
In 1938, Alberta turned the Jungle Navigation Company's headquarters into the Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen restaurant. Alberta was also good friends with JNC Indigenous South American affiliate, "Trader Sam" whom she put in-charge of the company's lost & found, only for him to turn it into a gift-shop where he sold off lost belongings. Throughout this time, Alberta worked to try and locate her missing grandfather, even being in contact with contemporaries from his secret-society the Society of Explorers and Adventurers such as Captain Mary Oceaneer.
Lost Tour[]
Around the December of 1938, Alberta organized a V.I.P. Jungle Cruise tour aboard the company boat the Kwango Kate under unlucky skipper Felix Pechman XIII. The VIP party included visiting Canadian scientist Dr. Leonard Moss, Alberta's painter friend Rosa Soto Dominguez, Alberta's ornithology obsessed cousin Siobhan Murphy, and entomologist Dr. Kon Chunosuke whom Alberta met and recognized as a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. Alberta spoke about the tour in an interview with The Daily Gnus newspaper of Adventureland, though did not attend the tour herself.
While this tour passed by the African veldt of North Africa, Siobhan spotted a rare bird and interrupted Pechman's driving, causing him to wreck the Kwango Kate in a Hippo Pool, leaving those aboard stranded along the veldt. While on the African veldt, the parties of the lost safari were chased up a tree by a black rhino where they stayed for an unknown period of time, ignored by passing skippers due to it being, "Too much paperwork".
Development history[]
Alberta was created for the Skipper Canteen restaurant in 2015, made to be a relative of the Jungle Cruise's joke character Dr. Albert Falls. References to her were added into the Jungle Cruise's 2021 refurbishment.
