Apollo the Raccoon is a character from Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
History[]
Background[]
Apollo was a raccoon living in the bayou outside of New Orleans in the 1920s. By 1927, Rufus would be a member of the band Zydeco Rainbow, where he played a squeezebox which he built from abandoned objects. Apollo was known for being full of energy and a love for storytelling about the items he found in the bayou. Rufus was also friends with fellow band-member, Rufus the Turtle.
In 1927, Princess Tiana found Zydeco Rainbow in the bayou and recruited them to join the Bayou Community Band which played music at her home Fleur du Bayou. After this, Apollo and his bandmates would play in this band nightly at the shop "Critter Co-Op" in the Bayou. Apollo would also perform as a "Special Guest" in Rufus' band, "Rufus and the Terrapins".
