Captain EO was titular protagonist of the show Captain EO.
History[]
Background[]
Origins[]
Captain EO was the humanoid space-ship captain of an unknown interstellar organization in-which he reported to Commander Bog. He was a dancer/musician/singer and had a rag-tag crew that would perform with him, including: his small alien sidekick Fuzzball, two-headed alien navigator(s) Idey & Ody, robotic security officer Major Domo, the robot Minor Domo, and clumsy alien shipmate Hooter. The music played by EO and his crew had some kind of ability which could allow EO to fire out beams of energy to restore bad things to being good.
At some point, Captain EO was sent on a mission by Commander Bog which Bog considered EO to have made a, "Mess" of.
The Supreme Leader[]
After the last mentioned mission, Captain EO and his crew were sent on a mission to deliver a musical gift to the villainous Supreme Leader on her metallic planet. Upon arriving, EO and his crew were captured by the Leader and sentenced to one hundred years of torture in her deepest dungeon. EO and his crew then performed their song, " We Are Here to Change the World" with EO claiming that he saw the beauty hidden within the Supreme Leader. The impact of EO's song transformed the Supreme Leader into a happy and beautiful woman while turning its planet into one lush with life.
Development history[]
Captain EO was created for the parks by George Lucas (creator of Star Wars) and Francis Ford Coppola (director of the Godfather trilogy) with the latter of the two having named him after "Eo" which is the Greek word for, "Dawn". Captain EO was also written by Rusty Lemorande while the final attraction/film was directed by Coppola and starred famous singer Michael Jackson as EO.
The attraction originally ran in the Journey into Imagination Pavilion and later was shown in different versions of Tomorrowland. The original attraction closed in 1994 and was replaced by Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, though it had some tribute revivals in the 2010s.

Trivia[]
- EO's crew-mate Major Domo appears as a contraband robot who passes by G2-9T in the luggage security area of Spaceport THX1138. This references the involvement which George Lucas had on Captain EO.
