Doctor Terminus is the main-antagonist of Pete's Dragon (1977).
History[]
Background[]
Doctor Terminus was a travelling snake-oil salesman during the 19th century through turn of the century. Not only did his, "Miracle Cures" not work but sometimes they caused harm to their users such as permanently dying a man's hair pink, or a weight loss pill causing a woman to gain weight. Around the turn of the century, he returned to the town of Passamaquoddy which he had previously scammed alongside his henchman, Hoagy.
In Passamaquoddy, Doctor Terminus learned of the dragon Elliot in possession of a young-boy named Pete. Terminus plotted to take the dragon to cut apart and sell as legitimate miracle cures to get rich. After Pete refused to sell Elliot, Terminus joined forces with the evil hillbillies the Gogan family who had purchased Pete to be their indentured servant before he escaped. Terminus also manipulated the local fishermen into assisting him in netting up the dragon, only for Elliot to fight back causing Terminus to be tied up in ropes. Elliot proceeded to destroy Terminus' wagon.
By the year 1938, Terminus seemingly sold some of his elixir to the Jungle Navigation Company's base in the Amazon rainforest.

Jungle Cruise[]
In the Jungle Navigation Company's medicine cabinet is a vial labelled, "Terminus Instant Relief Remedy for All Laments" with the caption, "From Across the Seven Seas".[3]
Villains Nite[]
Terminus was a live-performed character at the 2022 Villains Nite in Disney California Adventure. He was emcee of the Bald Mountain Nightclub show.
