The Dragon is a character from the Disneyland Paris attraction La Tanière du Dragon (French: The Burrow of the Dragon) underneath of Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant (French: The Castle of the Sleeping Beauty in the Woods).
Description[]
The Dragon is a large reptilian creature which breathes fire. The dragon lives in a damp cave surrounded by water, a feature reflected by its crocodile-like external teeth.

Background[]
This was a dragon found as an egg by the wizard Merlin. Merlin raised the dragon within a cave behind his shop in the courtyard of Sleeping Beauty's castle.

- The Dragon is often affiliated with the iconography of Maleficent and her character, though it is a separate character.
- Tony Baxter based the appearance of the dragon on Maleficent's dragon form, and the Ray Harryhausen dragon Taro from The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958).[1]
- A partial copy of the dragon's animatronic was planned for Disney's Animal Kingdom's unbuilt Beastly Kingdom.
