Eudora Rogers is Tiana's mother from the Princess and the Frog (2009).

History[]

Background[]

Eudora was a dress-maker in early 20th century New Orleans. Eudora married a cook named James Rogers, who had dreams of opening a restaurant, and with James had a daughter named Tiana around 1907. Eudora was often given work by the wealthy Eli "Big Daddy" La Bouff who considered her to be the best dressmaker in the city, and often had her make dresses for his daughter Charlotte who became Tiana's best friend.

James was enlisted in World War I where he died, widowing Eudora. Tiana became a young woman dedicated to opening her father's restaurant by working day and night jobs as a waitress. Eudora supported Tiana while also trying to convince her to not only dedicate herself to work, and settle down to have a family.

In 1926, Tiana married Prince Naveen of Maldonia and opened her restaurant "Tiana's Palace". After the success of Tiana's Palace, Tiana assisted her mother in opening up a dress-shop called "Eudora's Chic Boutique" at  35 Royal Street in New Orleans Square. Tiana would spend time in the store and sell her gourmet goods there. Tiana also started the business "Tiana's Foods" which Eudora made aprons for. Tiana and Naveen would live in the estate "Fleur du Bayou" in the Bayou, which Eudora visited for a Mardi Gras celebration of that year.
