Evangeline‏ refers to the Evening Star the in the Princess and the Frog (2009).

History[]

Background[]

Origins[]

"Evangeline" is the name given to the Evening Star (a reflection of the planet Venus), identified as being a star used for wishing. The Cajun firefly Ray believed Evangeline to be a firefly who was in love with him, and whom he loved in-return. It is possibly implied that Evangeline was at some point a firefly who died and was reincarnated as a star.

The Princess and the Frog[]

In 1926, Tiana acted against her values and better judgment then wished upon the Evening Star to try and get her restaurant. Shortly after, Tiana was met by Prince Naveen of Maldonia who had been turned into a frog by Doctor Facilier, setting Tiana on a journey with him which ended in Naveen and Tiana falling in love and opening the restaurant "Tiana's Palace".

Ray himself was killed by Doctor Facilier on this adventure, before seemingly becoming a star himself right-next to Evangeline.
