Fantasyland the setting of the land of the same name in many Disney Parks.

Description[]

Fantasyland is a magical realm which is home to many fairy-tale and talking animal characters, and which is either made up of merged locations and/or interconnects them. Fantasyland is often treated as-if it is ruled over by a form of kingdom, with its monarch determined by whomever can lift King Arthur's sword from its stone; a ritual watched over by the wizard Merlin. Fantasyland was also one of the locations within the, "Magic Kingdom", itself a realm protected by the wizard Merlin using the Crystal of the Magic Kingdom.

  • The Old Mill: The Old Mill is a ramshackle mill, which is home to various animals.
  • The Matterhorn: The Matterhorn is a mountain in the Swiss alps, on the border of Switzerland and Italy and looking over the village of Zermatt. The Disney version of the Matterhorn is filled with caves, caverns and tunnels which is home to a mysterious and territorial ape cryptid known as, "The Yeti" (or, "Harold").
  • Matterhorn Trail: The Matterhorn Trail is a trail going around the mountain and which is in the vicinity of its nearby village.

Carolwood Park[]

Carolwood Park was a more contemporary (c. 20th-21st century) park in Fantasyland, best known for hosting the Storybook Circus.

Storybook Circus[]

The Storybook Circus is a travelling circus, made up largely of anthropomorphic or otherwise sentient animal characters. The circus travelled via the Casey Jr. circus train.

Cinderella Castle Courtyard[]

The largest icon of Fantasyland is the castle of Cinderella and her Prince Charming.

  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: A magical boutique built into the castle, run by Cinderella's Fairy Godmother.
  • Cinderella Castle: The castle of Cinderella and her Prince which is an icon of Fantasyland.
  • Darling Home: The Renaissance faire style entrance to the home of the Darling family in Edwardian London, housing Wendy, John and Michael Darling along with their pet dog Nana. The home was often visited by Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and flying sailing-ships used to bring guests to Neverland.

  • Fantasyland Concert Hall: This was a somewhat contemporary theatre which hosted various musical performances, most notably Mickey's PhilharMagic Orchestra. Other shows have included the Genie singing the Blues, Hades singing Torch Songs, and evening with Wheezy, Ariel's Coral Group starring Ariel and her sisters, I Pagliacci performed by Willie the Whale, the Wolf Gang Trio starring the Three Little Pigs while conducted by the Big Bad Wolf, and the Festival Mariachis of the Three Caballeros.[1]
  • The Friar's Nook: A dining-service, seemingly run by the anthropomorphic badger priest Friar Tuck and established in the year 1071 AD. The nook was located along the castle walls exiting the courtyard and entering the Enchanted Forest.
  • It's a Small World: A renaissance faire style attraction built into the castle walls. The inside has a miniature world of singing doll characters.
  • Pinocchio Village Haus:
  • Prince Charming Regal Carrousel: This carousel is used by Prince Charming to train his knights in ring-spearing.

  • Rapunzel's Tower: The tower which the evil Mother Gothel used to imprison Rapunzel.

  • The Glockenspiel: The Glockenspiel is a giant sentient cuckoo clock-face, built into the Fantasyland building making up the small world home to various living dolls. Behind the Glockenspiel are depictions of several buildings including the Eiffel Tower, and Leaning Tower of Pisa.

  • Merlin's Shop: A shop in the castle courtyard, run by the sorcerer, Merlin. The name of the shop differs between, "Merlin’s Marvelous Miscellany Shop", and, "Merlin l'Enchanteur".

  • Sleeping Beauty Castle: This is the castle home of Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip.
  • La Tanière du Dragon: A burrow underneath of the castle, home to a dragon kept by Merlin.

The Fantasy Faire is a Bavarian village-like area along the walls for Sleeping Beauty castle. It is known for hosting various different characters, particularly princesses.

A Bavarian-style village within the walls of the castle, made up of buildings for characters from various different lands and stories.

  • Clock-Tower: A Bavarian style clock-tower building known for harbouring the sailing-ships which Peter Pan and Tinker Bell would guide through the Darling home, over Edwardian London and to Neverland. The weathervane of the clock-tower resembled Captain Hook's flagship The Jolly Roger, while the main building's weathervane depicted the crocodile which had eaten Captain Hook's hand.
  • The Queen's Castle: A German castle which belonged to Snow White's father before being inherited by his widow, the Evil Queen.

  • Stromboli's Puppet Theater: A puppet theatre run by the villainous puppet-master Stromboli.
  • Toad Hall: The ancestral home of one Mr. J. Thaddeus Toad, Esquire. Outside the hall was an English-style riverside village.
Wonderland Corner[]

Also known as Alice Corner, this was a corner of the Castle's courtyard which was partiality merged with the realm of Wonderland.

  • Cheshire Cafe: Not visible in the Cinderella Castle region, a cafe located near the Mad Tea Party themed to the Cheshire Cat.
  • Mad Hatter: The shop of the Mad Hatter.
  • The Mad Tea Party: A large courtyard of Wonderland plants, hedges, and lanterns where the Mad Hatter, March Hare and Dormouse have their never-ending Mad Tea Party.
  • The Rabbit Hole: A large rock formation along the walls of the castle which has a rabbit-hole connecting directly to Wonderland. The surrounding rocks had Wonderland's plant, animal and fungi life. The castle doors along the rocks also connected to parts of Wonderland, namely the Queen of Hearts' castle. Large caterpillars could be ridden by guests through the rabbit-hole.

The Storybook Land Canal is a waterway passing along various different storybook locations. The canals are accessed by riding a boat through the mouth of Monstro the Whale.

Smellephants on Parade[]

Parcels of the elephants scents found at the Walt Disney World Railroad are addressed to Timothy Q. Mouse at the Storybook Circus in Fantasyland.[3]

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom[]

Fantasyland was one of the lands within the Realm of the Magic Kingdom and was subject to two missions. In them, Hades recruited Ursula and Maleficent to try and retrieve the Crystal of the Magic Kingdom.

  • Carolwood Park is named for the Carolwood Pacific Railroad, a miniature railroad which Walt Disney created leading to his interest in building theme-parks.
