Gonzo also referred to as "The Great Gonzo" is a major member of the Muppet Show. He is the Muppets' resident masochist daredevil, who plays the gong/trumpet at the end of the theme-song, is a frequent duo with Rizzo the Rat, and has an affection for chickens.
History[]
Background[]
Origins[]
Gonzo was a "Whatever" working as a plumber for the business "Gonzo's Royal Flush" while accompanied by his girlfriend, Camilla the Chicken. While on the road, he befriended Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear, joining them on their road trip to make it in Hollywood. When Kermit became host of the Muppet Show, Gonzo performed as the daredevil "The Great Gonzo", loving the pain he'd receive in dangerous situations.
Muppet*Vision 3D[]
Gonzo was one of the Muppets who assisted in the presentation of Muppet*Vision 3D in the Grand Arts Theatre. Within this theatre, Gonzo ran the Department of Poultry & Mold Cultivation. Nearby, Gonzo ran an outlet for his plumbing business, Gonzo's Royal Flush.
Before the performance, Gonzo lied to Scooter about a phone-call for him, knowing that they did not have a telephone. Following this, Gonzo tap-danced in the pre-show video screens with a flower-pot atop his head, and one of his projections moved over monitors causing multiple Gonzos to interact at once. After this, Gonzo presented Rizzo the Rat to Sam Eagle and the pre-show screens, claiming him to be Mickey Mouse to Sam's dismay.
During the show, Gonzo popped out the Muppet*Vision 3D sign in 3D. He asked Bean Bunny to get him a sandwich while Bean and Waldo C. Graphic were running away, only to realize Bean's words and alert Kermit that Bean was running away. Gonzo then assisted in the search for Bean Bunny.

Disney's Hollywood Studios[]
The building for Gonzo's Royal Flush appears in Grand Avenue. The restrooms are themed to having executive used toilets provided by Gonzo's Royal Flush.
Muppet*Vision 3D[]
Gonzo appears throughout Muppet Vision 3D. The clock outside of the theatre has a cut-out of Gonzo dangling from a clock arm. Gonzo appears as a sculpture on the fountain outside, directing Miss Piggy. Props and parcels identified as belonging to Gonzo appear in the pre-show area.[1] A sign in the queue identifies Gonzo as running the theater's "Department of Poultry & Mold Cultivation".
Gonzo also appears in the pre-show videos, where he tricks Scooter into leaving for long enough for him to tap-dance with a pot of flowers on his head while exiting screens causing duplicate Gonzos to interact. Afterwards, Gonzo presents Rizzo the Rat pretending to be Mickey Mouse. In the physical space of the pre-show, there is a crate of "The Great Gonzo's Stunt Props" consisting of different combinations of helmets and fungus.[2] Another crate below is labelled "The Great Gonzo's really weird stuff".
Gonzo appears as a sculpture on the Muppet Vision 3D crest. At the beginning of the show, Gonzo presses out a stick with the logo at the tip, taking advantage of the theatre's 3D gimmick. He reappears when Bean leaves, telling Gonzo he's running away causing Gonzo to tell the others.
