Heffalumps and Woozles are antagonistic creatures from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Description[]
Heffalumps and Woozles are monstrous creatures imagined by the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood, based off of their misunderstandings of elephants and weasels. The creatures are described to "Guzzle up the thing you prize", which in the case of Winnie the Pooh is his honey. Within Pooh's imagination, Heffalumps and Woozles are giant and colourful with surreal and nonsensical physiology. These versions of Heffalumps and Woozles would also be accompanied by anthropomorphic honey pots.
History[]
Background[]
Heffalumps and Woozles were creatures known about by Tigger, which he thus warned Winnie the Pooh about claiming they stole honey. Winnie the Pooh then stayed up with a toy gun wanting to protect his honey until eventually falling asleep and having a nightmare about the creatures robbing him of his honey. When Pooh woke up, the Hundred Acre Wood was being flooded.
Appearances[]
