Hopper was the leader of a gang of grasshoppers, and had a younger brother named Molt. When their mother died, Hopper promised her on her death-bed that he would not kill Molt. Hopper and his gang regularly racketeered from the ants of Ant Island to extract food for the winter in return for their "Protection".

It's Tough to Be a Bug[]
At some point, Flik shrank various humans down through the roots of the Tree of Life of Discovery Island, and hosted them within the Tree of Life Theater below the tree. he point of this show was to encourage humans a better perception of bugs for better inter-species relations, including giving them honorary bug eyes to watch the show. The show hired various different performers from across the bug world including: Chili the deadly Chilean Tarantula, Weevil Kneevil, The Termite-ator, The Dung Brothers and Claire de Room.
The show was interrupted by Hopper, who then tried attacking the guests alongside his various henchmen, before being attacked by a lizard. After this, Flik regained control of the show and had a big finale.

It's Tough to Be a Bug![]
Hopper is main-antagonist in this attraction where he attempts to punish the human guests for humanity's crimes against bugs. After Hopper's attempts to attack the humans fails, he is eaten by a chameleon. In the Disney California Adventure version of the show, his likeness appeared on the warning sign which he wrote and signed.[1]
Trivia[]
- It is unclear how Hopper is alive during the events of It's Tough to Be a Bug! after being eaten alive during the events of A Bug's Life.
- Hopper was inspired by the grasshopper from the fable of the Grasshopper and the Ant, which also inspired the Disney character Hop the Grasshopper.
