Jack Sparrow's mother is the conjectural name for a character from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

History[]

Background[]

This was a woman of unknown identity who in the late 17th century, had an affair with the pirate Captain Edward Teague. From this union, the woman became pregnant with her son, Jack Sparrow, who grew up as a servant. She often enjoyed hanging around the pub of South American barterer/mixologist, "Trader Sam".

In Jack's absence, his mother died under unknown circumstances and had her head shrunken then left in Teague's possession. When Jack and his father reunited during the War on Piracy, Teague revealed Jack's mother's fate to him and later left the head in Jack's possession. Jack himself would leave the shrunken head in the care of Trader Sam due to his mother's love for Sam's bar. Sam retained ownership of the head for centuries, well into the 1950s.

Appearances[]

Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar[]

Jack's mother's shrunken head appears on one of the shelves of Trader Sam's bar, within a box. Alongside it, there is a letter to Sam from Jack which says, "Sam, rum is on me. Take care of Mum for me. She always loved hanging around your pub".[1]
