Background[]
Origins[]
Jiminy Cricket was a cricket who during the 19th century, stayed in the home of the woodworker/clock-maker Geppetto. When the Blue Fairy brought Geppetto's puppet Pinocchio to life to be his son, she appointed Jiminy as the puppet's conscience. Jiminy assisted Pinocchio through his adventures where they were confronted by villains like Honest John & Gideon, Stromboli, the Coachman of Pleasure Island, and the whale Monstro. After Pinocchio proved himself to be a real boy by saving his father, the Blue Fairy turned Pinocchio human and gave Jiminy a medal for being an Offical conscience.
