Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions
Tokyo Disneyland
Land Adventureland
Opening date September 8, 2014
Replaced Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions is an attraction located in Adventureland of Tokyo Disneyland at the Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan.

It is a revamp of Tokyo Disneyland's Jungle Cruise attraction written by Charlie Watanabe.[1] and modeled after the Magic Kingdom version. While the boats in the Magic Kingdom's attraction travel counter-clockwise, the boats in this version travel in a clockwise direction.

Like the earlier Tokyo incarnation, Wildlife Expeditions shares a station building with the park's steam train ride, Western River Railroad. The spiels are only delivered in Japanese.

Attraction summary[]

The boat ride starts out in the Amazon River, where the passengers encounter butterflies with one-foot wingspans. The boat then passes Inspiration Falls, which transitions into the Congo River in Africa.

After encountering a bird on a branch and two African elephants, the boat passes a camp that has been raided by western lowland gorillas and a gorilla swatting at an alligator with a stick, which transitions the cruise into the Nile River.

The boat passes along the African Veldt and riders see numerous African animals including giraffes, wildebeests, gazelles, vultures, and zebras watch a pride of lions feasting on a zebra beneath a rocky outcropping. The boat then passes a group of explorers that have been chased up a pole by an angry rhinoceros and are laughed at by spotted hyenas. The boat then passes by alligators and another waterfall, Schweitzer Falls and a tree with a giant snake. The boat then encounters a pool of hippos, about to charge the boat until the skipper steers the boat to safety. Drums are heard as the boat enters native territory. Natives are seen dancing near the boat and guests soon find themselves being approached by natives with weapons pointed at them. The boat escapes, passes by Schweitzer Falls and the giant snake again, and heads into the Mekong River.

The boat passes alligators and enters a sunken temple. Inside, the temple lights up. After the boat exits, guests come across an elephant bathing pool where numerous Indian elephants are relaxing in the water. The boat narrowly avoids being sprayed by water from one of the elephants and passes by. The cruise concludes after passing Salesman Sam, a salesman offering medallions.
