History[]
Background[]
King Louis was an orangutang in the jungles of India who ruled the Bandar-log monkeys from a series of ruins. He sought after the, "Red Flower" (fire) which man-kind could create, so that the Bandar-log could harness its power. Louis sent his henchmen to kidnap the man-cub, Mowgli, to try and find the secret to the Red Flower. Mowgli was then saved by his friends Baloo and Bagheera in an incident which caused Louis' ruins to crumble.
Appearances[]
King Louis can often be found alongside Baloo, and in live shows. He is most associated with Adventureland, and Asia in Disney's Animal Kingdom at, "Upcountry Landing".

- The birds Danno, Scats, Buddy, and Lava sing King Louis' song, "I wanna be like you" in The Enchanted Tiki Room: Get the Fever!.
- King Louis is original to the film and not Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book stories. Additionally, orangoutangs are not native to India.
