Disney Parks Wiki

A compendium of trivia, hidden details and other Easter eggs on Main Street, U.S.A. at the Disney Parks.

Assorted[]

  • Main Street is often said to be inspired by Walt Disney's hometown of Marceline, Missouri, which it is sometimes set in. This is not fully true as while it has influence from Marceline, the traditional Main Street was designed by Harper Goff with influence from his own hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado.
  • The windows of Main Street tribute Disney legends and imagineers.
  • The red pathways give the appearance of walking down a red carpet, as if entering Disneyland is entering a theatre.
  • The Founders Statue shows Walt Disney in a tie with the logo for Smoke Tree Ranch, a ranch which he owned.
  • Walt's two-fingered point in the founders statue comes from how in life, Walt was a chainsmoker who often pointed to things with his cigars/cigarettes. Images of Walt in the park remove this smoking addiction but causes him to look like he's doing a two-fingered point.
  • Live performers at Main Street often romanticize the historic, "Suffragettes" organization, a group which while petitioning for women's rights to vote, was also an organization which was historically racist towards black women.
