Miss Piggy is a major character from the Muppet Show. She is the fiery Prima donna of the Muppets, and love interest to Kermit the Frog.

History[]

Background[]

Origins[]

Miss Piggy is an anthropomorphic pig muppet who is a singer, a dancer, and skilled in karate. When she won the Miss Bogen County beauty contest, Miss Piggy first met Kermit the Frog and the two were instantly enamoured with each other. The two then went on a restaurant date, only for Piggy to be kidnapped by restauranteur Doc Hopper who wanted to force Kermit into being mascot of his frog-legs chain. Miss Piggy used her karate skills to fight off the villains, only to then leave Kermit for a show business opportunity.

Miss Piggy eventually re-joined with Kermit and his Muppet friends who were on a road-trip to Hollywood in hopes of making it into show-business. The Muppets defeated Doc Hopper and made it to Hollywood where they signed a "Rich and Famous" Contract, making their show-business dreams come true.

Kermit then became host of the Muppet Show where he and Piggy had a fiery, on-again/off-again relationship. On the Muppet Show, Piggy worked as an actress and singer, while having a regular part as First Mate Piggy in the segment "Pigs in Space" opposite to Link Hogthrob and Doctor Strangepork, and as Nurse Piggy in Veterinarian's Hospital opposite to Janice and Rowlf the Dog. Miss Piggy had a starring role in many Muppet films, and while on "The Muppets Take Manhattan", Kermit inadvertently married Piggy in the climax.

Muppet*Vision 3D[]

Miss Piggy was one of the Muppets involved with the presentation of Muppet*Vision 3D in the Grand Arts Theatre. She was identified as running the theatre's "Sartorial Accumulation Division". A part of the Muppet*Vision 3D presentation was planned to be of Miss Piggy singing the song "Dream a Little Dream of Me", and had a central role in Sam Eagle's big finale "A Salute to All Nations, but Mostly America" representing Lady Liberty. A fountain statue of Miss Piggy as Lady Liberty was erected outside of the Grand Arts Theatre.

While Miss Piggy rehearsed, she was persistently pestered by Bean Bunny attempting to bring her unwanted props for her number, against the advice of the Muppet go'for, Scooter. Each time Bean annoyed Piggy, she karate chopped him and sent him flying backwards. During the actual performance, Bean Bunny continued to get in her way and messed up her act with his unprofessionalism, which Piggy attempted to perform through until she blew up in anger at him. Bean then inadvertently sent Piggy flying off by revealing he prepared a water-ski for her, causing Sam Eagle to demean Bean and tell him to leave.

When Bean ran away with Muppet Labs experiment Waldo C. Graphic, the other Muppets were upset at him running-away while Piggy said "Good riddance". Bean and Waldo were then invited to partake in a shortened version of Sam's big finale, where Waldo transformed into a firework and set Piggy's dress on fire. Piggy declared that they would hear from her lawyers as the presentation ended in chaos.
