"Mother Lode" is a character from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

History[]

Background[]

"Mother Lode" is a woman who ran the Gold Dust Saloon in the mining boom-town of Tumbleweed during the 1880s-1890s. Mother Lode's establishment served as a hall for the miners of the Big Thunder Mining Company, while also providing them with hot baths, pure wines, cigars, liquor and cold lager. Due to the Big Thunder Mining Company upsetting the spirits of Big Thunder Mountain, the town experienced an intense drought, followed by the townsfolk paying con-artist, "Rain-Maker" Cumulus Isobar for assistance, only for the town to be hit by a flash-flood that submerged the saloon store in water; though this did not hinder its partying at night.

At some point, Mother Lode was also known for running a pack-mule riding service through the, "Nature's Wonderland" of the Rainbow Ridge region, also in the vicinity of Big Thunder.
