Mother Rabbit is a character from America Sings.
History[]
Background[]
Mother Rabbit was an anthropomorphic rabbit living in a burrow beneath Chick-a-Pin Hill during the 19th century. She would warn her offspring about the dangers of Br'er Fox while Br'er Rabbit was captured and nearly eaten by the canine. By the 1890s, she had a son who wandered off at night causing her to worry.
Development history[]
Mother Rabbit originates from the attraction America Sings and was then moved to Disneyland's Splash Mountain. Originally, she and Mother Rabbit were supposed to sing a variation of "Sooner or Later", Aunt Tempy's song in the Song of the South. A darker reprise of the Laughin' Place song was chosen instead. In the 2020s, Splash Mountain was replaced with Tiana's Bayou Adventure, based on The Princess and the Frog (2009).
Appearances[]
