The Nautilus‏‎ is a fictional 19th century submarine from the works of Jules Verne. The Nautilus was prominently featured in live-action Disney film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), and has made multiple appearances in the parks.

Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid[]

A rock formation in the queue is made to resemble the Nautilus, as a tribute to how this attraction replaced 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage.

The Great Movie Ride[]

A model of the Nautilus appeared in the Chinese Theatre's display of movie props.

Mysterious Island[]

The Nautilus is docked in the waters of Vulcania's lagoon.

Seaside Souvenirs[]

The mural in Seaside Souvenirs depicts the Nautilus.[1]

Skipper Canteen[]

On Captain Mary Oceaneer's map of the Mediterranean is an illustration of the Giant Squid fighting the Nautilus. The Nautilus XIII is indirectly referenced through Captain Nemo's book, "The Polar Voyage" in the library, referencing the plot of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage.

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage[]

The 107 Nautilus submarine is named for the Nautilus, and for the historic USS Nautilus (SSN-571) which inspired the original Submarine Voyage attraction.

The D-301 Nautilus submarine was named for the Nautilus, and for the historic USS Nautilus (SSN-571).

The Timekeeper[]

The Nautilus was indirectly referenced through references to Jules Verne's ideas of submarines.

Trader Sam's[]

Both of these bars have a drink called, "The Nautilus" served in a mug modelled after the submarine.

Trivia[]

  • The Nautilus was planned to appear in Tony Baxter's unbuilt Disneyland expansion Discovery Bay, with a backstory that it was salvaged by Jason Chandler and Ned Land.
  • Captain Nemo's pipe-organ in the Nautilus used for the film and walk-through attraction was repurposed to depict the pipe-organ in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion.
