Priscilla Lapham is a character from Esther Forbes' 1943 book, Johnny Tremain, adapted into a film by Disney in 1957.
History[]
Priscilla Lapham was a woman in the 18th century in colonial Massachusetts. She was lover to Johnny Tremain, the apprentice of her blacksmith grandfather. When Johnny was put on trial for a crime he didn't commit, she spoke as a witness and cleared his name. She would be known to run the, "Columbia Harbour House" in the Province of Massachusetts Bay.
