History[]
Background[]
Professor Cumulus Isobar was a con-artist and snake-oil salesman in America during the 19th century. By around 1890 he travelled to the town of Tumbleweed while it was experiencing a drought caused by the Spirit of Big Thunder Mountain. Isobar claimed to be a rain-maker who would bring back water in-return for the townspeople's money, and ran some other cons in the town. Isobar sold one Eberhardt Z a fake remedy for his bunions, as well as selling him a bridge which Isobar did not own the property of.
After taking the townsfolk's money, a flash flood hit Tumbleweed and caused his caravan to sink in the water. The townsfolk celebrated Isobar's rainmaking ad he attempted to prevent his caravan from sinking.

Cumulus Isobar appears in his, "Rain Maker" caravan, stuck in the flash flood in Tumbleweed. A 2012 queue update added a message from customer Eberhardt Z, upset that Isobar's bunion cure didn't work, asking for a better remedy, and asking about a bridge which Isobar claims to have sold him.
Trivia[]
- Isobar selling Eberhardt Z a bridge is a reference to historic con-artist George C. Parker who was known for repeatedly, "Selling" property which he did not own, including the Brooklyn bridge.
- Cumulus Isobar's name is a reference to meteorology. "Cumulus" is a type of cloud which rain forms in, while "Isobar" is the line on a weather-map indicating equal pressure.
- Another caravan based snake-oil business was depicted in the Magic Kingdom's Frontierland in the defunct attraction Splash Mountain where there was a wagon selling, "Critter Elixir".
