Rowlf the Dog is a character from the Muppet Show.
History[]
Background[]
Rowlf the Dog was a laid back and sarcastic, piano-playing dog playing at the Terrace Restaurant during Kermit the Frog's first date with Miss Piggy. When Kermit was down, he met Rowlf and the two sang a song together. Kermit later went on to make it big in Hollywood, and Rowlf was one of the Muppet friends who he brought along with him.
Rowlf was given a role as the Muppet show's house pianist, a member of the Muppet orchestra, and lead actor playing "Doctor Bob" in the "Veterinarian's Hospital" sketches.
