Roz also known as Child Detection Agency member Number 1 (001) is a character from the 2001 film Monster's, Inc..
History[]
Background[]
Monsters, Inc.[]
"Roz" (likely an assumed alias and not her true name) is a slug-like humanoid monster in the city of Monstropolis. She is the head of the Child Detection Agency who used the identity of Roz to go undercover and infiltrate the company Monster's, Inc. out of suspicion for its evil CEO, Mr. Waternoose kidnapping children to exploit for scream energy. When Waternoose's lackey Randall brought a human girl into Monstropolis, Roz oversaw the CDA's dealings of the incident, arresting Waternoose, and sending the girl back to her home.
The Laugh Floor[]
After the incident, the Monsters, Inc. employees Mike and Sulley discovered that laugh power was more powerful than scream power. Roz maintained her undercover position at the company when they made this shift and created a new project called, "The Laugh Floor", creating a portal between the factory and Tomorrowland where Monsters, Inc. comedians would entertain guests for laughs in a comedy-show.
Roz held a major position in this operation, having some connections to Tomorrowland, while also frequently tormenting the head jokester, Mike Wazowski. Roz often tormented Wazowski by mocking him and his employees over a screen, playing embarrassing footage of him, or activating trap-doors and dropping objects on his head for laughs. Roz herself was named, "Monster of Comedy" of the month in a February.
