The Storybook Circus is a fictional organization from the eponymous area in the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland. It is largely made up of Mickey Mouse universe characters, and characters from Dumbo (1941).
Description[]
The Storybook Circus is a travelling circus, based out of the sentient Casey Junior circus-train. The circus consisted predominately of animals, both of the anthropomorphic and non-anthropomorphic variety. The circus was known to travel in the magical realm of Fantasyland, most notably in the Carolwood Park.

- Casey Junior: Casey Junior is a sentient circus steam-train with a face and eyes made from headlights. Casey Junior is used to pull circus cars for Storybook Circus.
- Clara Cluck:
- Dumbo: Dumbo is an elephant with large ears capable of being used like wings to fly.
- Flying Elephants: There appeared to be thirty-one or thirty-two other flying elephants like Dumbo present at the circus which guests would ride. These elephants are seemingly trained and conducted by Timothy Mouse.
- The Giggy Gang Clown Troop:
- The Great Goofini: Goofy is an anthropomorphic dog who acted as a daredevil for the circus.

- Hyacinth Hippo: Hyacinth is an anthropomorphic hippopotamus ballet-dancer and, "The Most Exquisite Aerial Sensation at the Big Top".[2]
- Lambert Lion:
- Madame Daisy Fortuna: Daisy Duck AKA Madame Daisy Fortuna is the circus' fortune-teller.
- Minnie Magnifique: Minnie Mouse AKA Minnie Magnifique trained the circus' Pirouetting Parisian Poodles.
- Monkey: This was a daredevil monkey of unknown name, who accompanied Goofy in his stunts.
- Pete: Peter "Peg Leg" Pete is a villainous anthropomorphic cat who ran the circus' sideshow, "Pete's Silly Sideshow".
- The Pirouetting Parisian Poodles: The Pirouetting Parisian Poodles are a group of poodles trained by Minnie and who accompanied the Wonder-Pup Pluto. The poodles consist of Genevieve, Lorraine, Brigitte, Sophie et Lisette.
- Pluto: Pluto the dog performed in the circus as, "Wonder-Pup Pluto", accompanied by the The Pirouetting Parisian Poodles.
- Salty the Seal:
- Smellephants on Parade: These are anthropomorphic "Smellephant" elephants which smell of things like popcorn. The elephants are virtually identical to the "Pink Elephants", figures which were seen in an alcohol-induced hallucination by Dumbo and Timothy Q. Mouse.
- Timothy Q. Mouse: Timothy Q. Mouse is the mouse friend and guardian of Dumbo who orchestrated the Flying Elephants attraction.

The Storybook Circus is a circus active, seemingly around the 20th century. The circus includes many anthropomorphic, "Toon" animal characters, and shares some members with the WDP Circus. At some point, the circus set up shop in Carolwood Park.

This area of Fantasyland is themed to being the Storybook Circus.
Trivia[]
- Carolwood Park is named for the Carolwood Pacific Railroad, a miniature railroad which Walt Disney created leading to his interest in building theme-parks.
- At the Fantasyland Station is luggage for Hyacinth, alongside luggage for the Big Bad Wolf which identifies him as a, "Balloonologist Extraordinaire", possibly referencing this villain as being another member of the circus.[3]
- Early artwork for the circus depicted the Three Little Pigs as acrobats of the circus called, "The Flying Piggolinis".[4] They are however, not referenced as performers in the final area.
- The Melody Time Brass Horn Band calliope is named for the Disney film Melody Time (1948).[5]
- The numbers on Casey Jr. have different references such as one being 55 (Disneyland's opening year 1955), along with 71, 82, 89, and 98 which represent the opening years of different parks in Walt Disney World.
- The tigers which Goofy is shown juggling have the same design as Raja, a tiger which attempted to eat Goofy in the 1945 short Tiger Trouble.
- The bear which Goofy is having wrestled with is Lumpjaw from the Bongo segment of Fun and Fancy Free (1947).[6]
- The billboard slogan, "The greatest show in history - yesterday, today and tomorrow!" references how it is located on the path for Tomorrowland. This billboard replaced one for Tron Lightcycle Power Run.[7]
