Tiana's Foods was founded in the year 1927, after Tiana and Naveen opened their Tiana's Palace restaurant. The headquarters purchased for the headquarters was a salt which previously belonged to the Southern Dome Salt Company. By February 27th of that year, Tiana's Foods would receive a certificate of recognition from the New Orleans Square Chamber of Commerce.

In 1927, Tiana's Foods helped Tiana and Naveen arrange for her "celebration of family and friends of New Orleans" set to be on Mardi Gras on February 27, 1927. Various people joined Tiana and Louis in their adventure to assemble the Bayou Community Band of the bayou to help them perform.

Trivia[]

  • On the Tiana Foods water-tower are various star designs which resemble Tiana's tiara. One of the points is made to look like the Evening Star, Evangeline, and Tiana's late firefly companion, Ray.
  • In Disneyland, the Tiana's Foods location is incredibly close to the Haunted Mansion and visible from the Haunted Mansion's entrance. As both attractions are set in New Orleans, it is unknown if they are of similarly close proximity within continuity or not.
  • On the wall is a "Certificate of Recognition" awarded to Tiana's Foods by the New Orleans Square Chamber of Commerce, referencing Disneyland's themed area of New Orleans Square.
  • In Tiana's office, there is a shelf with a figure of a rabbit near a figure of a bear and a fox. This is a tribute to the characters Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear, who appeared in Tiana's Bayou Adventure's predecessor Splash Mountain. At the exit for Tiana's Bayou Adventure in the Magic Kingdom, there is a wooden carving of a bear next to a fox on the mantle in tribute to Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear.[5]
  • The newspaper on Tiana expanding her business into Tiana's Foods was in the newspaper's volume 62, issue 31 while the newspaper story on her arranging her Mardi Gras party was volume 62, issue 33.
  • The employee Tony may be a tribute to Imagineer Tony Baxter who was creative advisor on Tiana's Bayou Adventure, and developed its predecessor Splash Mountain.
  • A crate labelled "Fussell Springs" appears at the exit for the Magic Kingdom version of the attraction. This is a repurposed prop from Splash Mountain, where it supposedly tributed a long-time cast-member of the attraction.
