History[]
Background[]
Tom Sawyer was a cunning young boy in the town of St. Petersburg, Missouri. When Tom was around 12 years-old, he and his friends Huckleberry "Huck" Finn and Joseph "Joe" Harper travelled along the Mississippi River where they were presumed dead. In actuality, the three found Jackson's Island, an island with a history of being used by pirates such as Captain Jack Sparrow, William Turner and Jean Lafitte where the three likewise played pirate, with Sawyer declaring himself, "The Black Avenger of the Spanish Main".
A week later the Monday of the November 30th, 1835, the three boys interrupted the church-services of their own funerals and revealed themselves to be alive. In the years to come, Tom would spend time playing on the island with his young-love Becky Thatcher and with younger-boy, Sam Clemens. Also on the island, the children had some encounter with an Indigenous American robber known as Joe, who sought after treasure within the island's caves.
