Ursus H. Bear is a character from the Country Bear Jamboree.
History[]
Background[]
Origins[]
Ursus H. Bear was an anthropomorphic bear born in 1848. He was born into a "Big Pack" family of honey moguls who wanted him to take up the family business. When he was a year old in 1849, Ursus left home to perform around the world.[1]
Ursus grew up to be a "Honey tycoon". After an inspirational hibernation season, Ursus set out to create a permanent cultural showplace for America’s musical heritage.[2]
Country Bear Jamboree[]
In 1898, Ursus had Grizzly Hall constructed to serve as the Country Bear's playhouse nearby the cabin of jamboree member Big Al. Ursus would go on to invite many bears to perform in Grizzly Hall as "The Country Bear Jamboree". At some point, Ursus was named "Grr-ill Master", possibly at the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country and/or the Bayou of New Orleans.
Ursus H. Bear died in 1928 at the age of 80 and was paid tribute over Grizzly Hall's stage. Ursus' grandson, Henry, took over as master-of-ceremonies after Ursus' death.

Trivia[]
- Ursus is latin for, "Bear".
- Ursus is similar to Dr. Albert Falls from the Jungle Cruise in being a previously referenced character who had his history expanded in a refurbishment, with said history making him the absent/posthumous founder of a classic Disney ride which his grand-child now operates.
